First of all, I want to send a huge shout out to both BeatStars and Social Media director Mike Trampe for choosing ya boy Marc J Music to be the BeatStars Ambassador for New Orleans! I truly believe in the vision CEO of BeatStars, Abe Batshon has for this growing producer community. I fully support the culture of collaboration they are building through their amazing platform and truly believe in the way that they are helping us explore our full potential as song makers. On top of all that, this opportunity allows me to meet some awesome producers and artists here in the 504 whom I otherwise may have never come across.
As many already know, New Orleans is a breeding ground for incredible musical artists. Greats such as Louis Armstrong, who is without a doubt one of the most influential Jazz artists and composers of all time to the one and only Lil Wayne who is absolutely one of the best rappers alive.
Talent can be found on every stage and street corner in the N.O. and everywhere you go you’ll hear the music that is the heartbeat of this great city. Jazz, R&B and the booming bass of Hip Hop in many forms.
It’s something you have to witness for yourself because it’s hard to explain the frantic rhythm of New Orleans bounce and the feeling of New Orleans Jazz. It’s something that resonates with your soul and commands you to move. I mean, it’s New Orleans and you NEED to experience it for yourself.
As you can probably tell, I love my city and the vast amount of music it contains. I want to try my best to harness just a small portion of that talent and build an ever-growing group of songwriters, artists, and producers representing what I think is the most powerful music career building site in existence today, BeatStars.com.
Now on to our first true BeatStars meetup which took place on March 21st, 2018. It was a real blast.
Attending this meetup was singer/songwriter and only female of the group this time around, Sveltest, rapper/producer J-Beast and one half of the rap group Pan Gng, 733 aka PNGLEE. We talked about BeatStars and how it helps producers and artists not only make money but gives them an extremely easy way to collaborate with others all over the world.
We spoke on the current and future projects and coming together to help each other grow. This was one of the most valuable moments of this meetup because at that moment I realized that I was in the presence of amazing artists who knew the power of many was a real thing. I also realized that we could build a movement like the ones growing in Dallas, Los Vegas and many other cities in the U.S. and abroad. I think it’s amazing and incredibly empowering to come together and make music. I also think it’s in the best interests of producers and artists to come together and work, encourage and support each other. Overall, this is a great thing BeatStars is doing by bringing us together and stressing the power of teamwork. For that and what’s to come, thank you BeatStars. This is going to be one hell of a ride!
